The Major Research and Innovation Application Support (MRIAS) program aims to boost WA’s national and international grant funding success and enhance WA’s standing as a leader in health and medical research and innovation.

The purpose of the Innovation Seed Fund 2025-26 is to support WA innovators to develop and commercialise their health and medical innovations through start-up companies operating in WA, creating high-value jobs and enhancing the biomedical support and manufacturing capacity of the State.

The Research Infrastructure Support (RIS) 2026 program provides funding to eligible Western Australian medical research institutes, universities, and hospitals for the indirect costs of research and for costs associated with operating shared research-dedicated facilities, services and equipment.

The Spotlight 2025-26 Rheumatic Heart Disease program aims to bring WA’s health and medical research and innovation sector together with cross-sector collaboration and strong community engagement, to drive lasting solutions.

The FHRI Fund Distinguished Fellows 2025-26 program aims to attract outstanding research leaders to Western Australia, to undertake a program of research that builds WA’s reputation and capability for WA-led globally recognised research.
