Research Excellence Awards 2022
The 2022 Research Excellence Awards (REA) program aimed to recognise and support WA’s most outstanding researchers by providing discretionary funding that could be applied strategically to research opportunities.
To ensure excellence was supported across career stages, the REA Program awarded grants through two streams. Applicants were required to meet a criterion of ‘excellence’ which is demonstrated by the receipt of at least the following total eligible research grant income in the three calendar years 2018-2020:

Up to 30 of the highest-performing eligible researchers in each stream were awarded funding at one of four tiers, determined through eligible research grant income received by each applicant. Up to $5 million was available for each stream over two years.
