Clinician Researcher Training Program 2024-25
The Clinician Researcher Training Program provides scholarships for health professionals to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a related health and medical sciences area.
The program aims to build the clinician researcher workforce in WA and support translatable health and medical research within the health system, to improve the health of all Western Australians.
The Clinician Researcher Training Program is available to pre-consultant medical, dental, allied health, nursing and midwifery professionals employed by an eligible WA public health service provider (HSP), public-private partnership (PPP) provider or private hospital, who have secured a place on a PhD course at a WA university.
Funding between $300,000 to $350,000 will be provided over a 3.5-year period, on a competitive basis and will include up to $70,000 for project costs.
PhD studies must address a priority as determined by the clinicians employing health care provider.
A limited number of part-time scholarships will be available where justified for equity reasons.
Note: As a requirement for this program applicants must submit a formal PhD course application to their chosen university by Thursday 13 March.
