New cutting-edge research infrastructure capacity for WA
The Future Health Research and Innovation Fund has invested just over $2.7 million to leverage an additional $7.45 million in Commonwealth National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) grants and partner funding to support world class, state of the art, health and medical research equipment and expertise in WA for use by the health and medical research and innovation sector.
The funding is offered over 3 years to support the ongoing operations of 3 national research infrastructure initiatives based in WA.
- GenomicsWA offers genomic sequencing and analysis services for research using state-of-the-art instrumentation and DNA sequencers.
- The National Imaging Facility provides researchers with access to a suite of advanced imaging capability including preclinical and human imaging, radiochemistry, and analysis of imaging data to tackle health challenges and accelerate innovation.
- The WA Proteomics Facility houses some of the most powerful instruments available for delivering quantitative proteomics and flux proteomics services. Its services are offered for the analysis.
Funding was offered as a targeted call to existing NCRIS facilities. Recipients were required to leverage combined WA partner and Commonwealth NCRIS funding that was at least equal to the FHRI Fund offer.
