Funding for healthcare innovations to address critical health challenges for WA patients
Over $3.5 million of funding has been awarded to three Western Australian researchers through the 2024 Research Innovation and Impact Grants, a co-funded Program of the Western Australian (WA) Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund and the RPH Research Foundation.
These grants support mid-career and senior researchers who are translating their ideas into healthcare innovations that could lead to a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of our community.
The three projects will be led by researchers at the Royal Perth Hospital to improve Western Australian patient outcomes, from developing highly effective personalised Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells to help treat incurable cancers to using machine learning to predict cardiovascular complications after non-cardiac surgery, these innovative projects are challenging existing paradigms.
