Partnership to provide millions for prevention and personalised medicine
A groundbreaking co-funding partnership between the Western Australian Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund and The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group will provide $3.5 million across two grant opportunities that will tackle some of the most pressing health challenges in Western Australia (WA).
The State Government will match THRF Group’s $1.75 million contribution to deliver their Preventative Health Fellowships and the Innovations in Personalised Medicine program via the Co-funding Partnership Program (Co-FPP).
The FHRI Fund Co-FPP enables partnerships to be established to either develop new funding programs or to maximise the impact of existing funding programs that are aligned with the Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund Priority Goals. The partnerships aim to build a culture that supports co-operation and interconnectedness resulting in expanded impact across the WA sector.
The Preventative Health Fellowships program will support early to mid-career researchers in WA to improve health outcomes for priority populations, including regional and remote communities, Aboriginal populations and culturally diverse communities across the state.
The Innovations in Personalised Medicine program will provide grants to WA researchers to further advance precision treatments for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative conditions.
The two funding opportunities will be available in 2025 and will be advertised through THRF Group’s website.
