Clinician Research Fellowships launched through FHRI–Raine partnership
Applications are now open for the Clinician Research Fellowships, an initiative of the WA Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund delivered in partnership with the Raine Medical Research Foundation.
The program is designed to support clinicians employed by WA Health Service Providers to build their research capability while continuing clinical practice. It aims to facilitate high‑quality research that is directly relevant to the WA public health system and contributes to improved health care outcomes for Western Australians.
Research supported through the Fellowships must be undertaken in Western Australia and address priorities relevant to the WA public health system.
The Clinician Research Fellowships are open to eligible early‑ and mid‑career clinicians with minimal or no paid research time, working in the following streams:
- Stream A: Medical doctors or dentists
- Stream B: Allied health, nursing and midwifery professionals
Fellowship funding provides salary support for research duties of up to 0.5 FTE, as well as a contribution towards minor research costs. Fellowships may be awarded for up to three years, depending on the scope of the research proposal. During the Fellowship period, recipients must maintain a minimum of 0.3 FTE clinical duties within a WA Health Service Provider.
