Million dollar grants available for WA cystic fibrosis research

Western Australia’s researchers tackling cystic fibrosis research projects are encouraged to apply for grants that provide valuable opportunities to advance cystic fibrosis research towards a potential cure.
Applications are now open for the Western Australian Cystic Fibrosis Research Collaborative Program (CFRCP) 2025 — a co-funded partnership between Cystic Fibrosis WA and WA’s Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund.
Each organisation contributed $1 million to the program, which is set to provide grants up to $200,000 over 3 years to successful applicants to enhance their careers and drive innovation in the State.
The $2 m funding initiative is designed to attract and support researchers committed to exploring alternative treatment options to improve the lives of people with cystic fibrosis and includes 4 key grant streams:
- postgraduate top-up scholarship
- research innovation grant
- fellowship
- collaborative grant
Administered by Cystic Fibrosis WA in collaboration with Conquer Cystic Fibrosis, the program aims to foster innovative research and build research capacity in Western Australia.
This initiative is part of the FHRI Fund’s Co-Funding Partnership Program (Co-FPP).
