FHRI Fund builds strong research foundation in WA

The FHRI Fund has awarded $25 million to 20 Western Australian health and medical research entities to support the indirect and operational costs associated with research.
Through the Research Infrastructure Support (RIS) program Medical Research Institutes, universities and hospitals have received a share of:
- Stream 1 funding that is proportionate to their eligible research grant income, to fund the indirect costs of research that are not usually covered through research grant funding
- Stream 2 funding that reflects the costs associated with operating shared research equipment, facilities and services.
RIS funding aims to provide a sustainable research environment and to promote excellence in health and medical research in Western Australia.
